If you have put a lot of time and effort into researching and recording
your family history, that history deserves to be preserved and displayed
in a manner befitting those efforts. That is what we do. Our services
are for serious genealogists who seek to compliment their efforts with an
elegant and distinctive family tree that is unique in its style and
appearance. We can make a family tree for you whether your family
history is recorded on a software program or hand written on pedigree
charts. That is because we build your tree from the ground up, taking
the time to carefully and accurately enter all of the information you
provide us to build your family tree. Using this information, we will
carefully craft and build an elegant family tree that you will be proud to
frame and display. Our mission is to provide our clients family trees that
are truly unique and elegant in style and content.
What others do
If you desire a family tree that is attractive in appearance, a family tree
that you can frame and be proud to display, then most genealogy
software programs and chart printing services probably have left you
disappointed. If your family history is saved as a genealogy software file
(i.e., a GEDCOM file) and you want to print a family tree larger than
your printer permits, there do exist some businesses that will print a
large format family tree using the genealogy file you send to them, and
they will do it for a nominal fee. These chart printing services don't
charge much because they don't do much. They simply print a chart
from a file you send them and mail it back to you. They put no effort
into creating a family tree that is truly attractive and unique. Instead,
their trees often resemble a computer printout and they simply add a
generic "coat of arms" or "surname history" in an effort to enhance the
appearance of their trees. Such trees lack the distinctive style and
appearance, and the personal touch, that a family tree deserves.
What we do
Our family trees look nothing like those produced by chart printing services. Instead of adding glitzy and sometimes
meaningless embellishments, we focus on displaying the ancestral information on your family tree in a simple but
attractive manner. The inspiration for the style and appearance of our family trees comes from displays we have
seen at art galleries and historical societies. We are not a chart printing service. Nor do we make fan charts or
photo trees or trees printed on long rolls of paper. We make only elegant 24" x 36" ancestor trees and variations of
ancestor trees resembling the form and appearance shown on the "Examples" tab.
We make family trees consisting of five to eight generations. Unlike family tree printing services, we custom build
your tree, removing "empty" boxes and rearranging the boxes that represent your ancestors to provide a neatly
proportioned layout and appearance to your finished tree. We include a brief family history on your tree if you so
desire. And where there is space on the tree, typically in the first three or four generations displayed, we can
include brief facts that would not otherwise be displayed (i.e., marriage date, where buried, other children's names,
etc.).
Over the years, we have published family trees using different kinds of paper, different font styles, different themes
and layouts, and different backgrounds. After trial and error, we have adopted and now use exclusively the layout
and appearance of the family trees you see on this web site. We print our family trees on high quality acid free
photo paper using archival ink, our family trees have a distinctive parchment background that makes the ancestral
information stand out, we use fonts specially selected for an elegant appearance, and we size and space and
proportion the information displayed on the tree to avoid a confusing or "cluttered" look. The result, although it
does take a lot of effort, is a unique and elegant family tree. We think you will agree that no one does it better.
What it costs
Like fine craftsmen of the past, we go the "extra mile" by putting in the time and effort to create for each client a
family tree that is unique and elegant, and we involve you in the process of creating that family tree, so our
services do cost more than a chart printing service. On the other hand, our family trees cost no more than you
would pay for a decent work of framed art to hang on the wall. And an elegant and distinctive family tree is sure to
garner a lot more attention and admiration. The price for our work and delivering to you a completed 24" x 36"
family tree ready to frame is $495. Unlike most chart printing services, there are no other costs or hidden fees,
shipping and handling charges, etc. Just $495, period. There is a 7.5% state sales tax if you are a resident of
Washington state.
Additional copies of your family tree can be made for $100. If you have siblings and the only changes to their tree
would be the title on the tree and the information for the focus individual, you can order two family trees for $595,
three family trees for $695, etc.
You can learn more about the process and steps in creating a family tree by clicking on "The Process" tab, and see
closeups of the details of our work by clicking on the "Examples" tab. If you have questions to which you cannot
find answers on this web site, you can contact us by sending an e-mail to ...
